THE CHARACTER OF THE HOUSE - ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Each character is determined by unique advantages and disadvantages. Our cottage with character has many amenities that most guests find unique and find the house comfortable. However, it is already quite old and apart from 100% advantages, it also has its disadvantages. Please check them all before you book and don't rate them badly.

OUR 100% ADVANTAGES:

PERFECT LOCATION: Perfect location and starting point for exploring southern Poland for those traveling by own car. The house is located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in Libertów, 3 km from the borders of Krakow and 2 km from Zakopianka. Away from the smog.

Examples of attractions and their distances: Krakow Center - 13 km, Wieliczka Salt Mine - 16 km, Kryspinów Reservoir - 18 km, Kraków-Balice Airport - 19 km, ZOO - 23 km, John Paul II House in Wadowice - 36 km, Energylandia Amusement Park with the largest and fastest water rollercoster in the world (!) - 38 km, National Park in Ojców - 45 km, Auschwitz - 56 km, Health Resort in Rabka and Gorka - 60 km, Błędowska Desert (Polish Sahara, i.e. the largest desert in Europe) - 66 km, Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains - 98 km.

FULL GUEST ACCESS
The whole house and the whole garden are at your disposal. The owner lives 50 km away and can help in case of any problems 24/7.

SELF CHECK IN
There is no need to make an appointment to pick up or return the keys. For your convenience, check-in and check-out are possible independently (combination lock). Instructions will be sent.

FIREPLACE and INFRARED PANELS
The fireplace (cast iron goat) is the soul of the living room. The glow and warmth of a living fire during the long autumn and winter evenings will not only make you happy, but also relax you. To ensure maximum sleep comfort, health-promoting infrared heaters (infrared heating) are installed next to each bed.

OPEN GROUND SPACE WITH A GARDEN VIEW
The living room, dining room and kitchen are actually one common space, slightly separated by wall fragments. Thanks to this openness, spending time together, whether with family or friends, becomes more complete, and the view of the garden encourages outdoor activities.

FENCED GARDEN
We nurture it in an ecological spirit. We do not use fertilizers or chemical plant protection products. Nature rules itself here. We like weeds because most of them are medicinal plants. It is a real pleasure to relax on the terrace in the shade of a huge linden tree.

SAFE FOR ALLERGIES
We know that many people may have an allergic reaction to the new washing powder, so we wash bed linen and towels in delicate, hypoallergenic, odorless powders and do not use fabric softeners. Our bed linen and towels are therefore not artificially flavored and softened after washing.

RESTAURANT WITH CATERING
In the Niko restaurant just 1.4 km away, you can dine, order food from the house or have a drink (ul. Jana Pawła II 32). The menu offers local cuisine with the addition of salads, pasta and pizza. Open Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 21:00. They speak english and offer takeaways. You can pay with VISA and MASTERCARD. Tel: +48 505 939 989. NO TV
We hope you will enjoy a break from noisy TV stations, just like us. Instead of antennas and decoders, in the set with the TV set we have a DVD player and a very rich collection of films, both for adults and children.

OUR COLLECTIONS
We have also collected other family collections in the cottage. The dining room is equipped with antique chairs inherited from grandmothers and grandparents, a table with porcelain and crystals, and paintings. In turn, in the living room and bedrooms, there are drawings and sculptures made by ourselves or our friends, as well as souvenirs from our stay in Africa in the 1980s.

OUR FAULTS

Ants, mosquitoes and spiders

Due to the natural garden around the house, uninvited guests may appear in the house from time to time. And because we love all animals, we don't use any chemicals and we don't kill any insects. We use only non-toxic methods of persuasion :) Our house is therefore not suitable for people who prefer a completely septic environment!

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The bus stop (Libertów Krzyżówka) is very close, just 200 meters from the house (at the intersection with Jana Pawła II Street), but the city bus (line 235) 

it goes to / from Przystanek Borek Fałęcki only 1-2 times an hour.

We offer you a taxi in return. It is not very expensive at all. We recommend the cheapest network: Icar TAXI, tel. 12 653 5555. A ride from the house to the Main Square (corner of Wiślna and Anny Streets) costs about PLN 33/8 EURO / 9 USD (they have one price list 24h / 7).

WE DO NOT IRON THE BEDDINGS AND TOWELS - To conserve environmental resources and minimize our impact on the environment, we do not iron bed linen and towels. We hope that it will not bother you and that it will save Mother Earth some resources. HEATING IN WINTER - When the house is free, turn the heating down to approx. 18 ℃. This is ecological, but it can be a problem for you if you are used to heating above 21 ℃. Of course, upon arrival, you can turn up the thermostats and light the fireplace right away to get the temperature that suits you best in about an hour.

FLOOR HEATING - underfloor heating does not work in corridors, kitchens and bathrooms. We heat these rooms with additional electric heaters.

NOISE IN HIGH WIND
It is true that only one of the previous guests complained about the noise from the chimney in strong winds. Although such a strong wind happens sporadically, we decided to write about it in order to possibly warn other sensitive people. The chimney runs through the master bedroom and can be a problem for particularly vulnerable people in windy weather. Old houses have such charms that sometimes something whistles or creaks :(
